Claude Laporte (1734-1792) was one of the Jesuits who were killed when the French Revolution turned into a rabid anti-Catholic persecution. Father Laporte worked in Brittany directing a sodality and serving as chaplain at the Brest Naval College. He was an assistant pastor when he refused to take the oath.
