Jesuit Community Life
I could not carry out my mission without the support of the community at the Curia.
At the Jesuit Curia in Rome, Jesuits from around the world have gathered to form one community of between 40-50 members. The General Curia community is a community like any other community around the world. We live, work and pray together.
We Jesuits are friends in the Lord, and in community life, we seek to support one another through our companionship. Community life is an important dimension of our Jesuit identity as well as an integral and fundamental element of the Jesuit mission. In our common and shared life together, we try to actualise the spirit of General Congregation 36, which declared that,
The Jesuit community is a concrete space in which we live as friends in the Lord. This life together is always at the service of mission, but because these fraternal bonds proclaim the Gospel, it is itself a mission.
