Student Residences: a place of accompaniment

Committed university students aspire to live in an environment that encourages not only studies, but perhaps even more integrated human and spiritual growth. This is what they find in the residences or colleges which the Society of Jesus has established in Slovenia.

During his recent visit to Ljubljana, Father General officially opened and blessed the Jesuitski Kolegij. This residence, completely renovated, is the home of 24 young university students. Most are from Slovenia, but a number come from other countries. They share not only the facilities of the residence, but also their hopes and their Christian commitment. There are weekly meetings and a shared Eucharist. They also sit down to meals together, and they are involved in organizing socio-cultural and socio-religious activities with their fellow University students. We met two of them, Jonathan Rebetz and Americo Miguel. We also spoke with the Jesuit director of the project, Fr Damjan Ristič.

This short video features their testimonies.
