Jesuits in Slovenia: a discreet and admired presence
In the series of video recollections of Father General’s visits to the various Provinces of the Society, here is footage of his visit to Slovenia. This is a “small Province” in terms of the number of Jesuits, about fifty in all. The age pyramid of this group of Jesuit companions is balanced and this helps maintain an efficient pastoral presence in various settings, especially among university students.
Father General has announced the appointment of the next General Treasurer of the Society. He will be Fr. Sebastian J. Jeerakassery, from the Delhi Province. He will assume office on 1 April 2023. He succeeds Fr. Thomas J. McClain who has held the position for the past 12 years.

Father General has appointed Fr. Ioannes Baptista Tsutomu Sakuma as the new Provincial of the Japan Province. He was born in Kobe, Japan, 70 years ago, the city where he attended the Jesuit Junior and Senior High schools. His family was close to the Jesuits.
