Becoming better at Apostolic Planning
Apostolic planning and how it links with discernment is being emphasised more and more in the Society of Jesus. On 26 January, the General Council, along with the Heads of different departments in the Curia, took a special online course with planning expert, Christina Kheng.
“Discernment and apostolic planning go hand in hand”,said Father General Arturo Sosa. “We are starting a whole process of planning here in the General Curia and as we begin we want to ensure that we see the big picture and the road ahead - a road where the role played by the Spirit is vital.”
The Zoom session took 90 minutes and covered
topics such as how to integrate discernment into planning; linkage with the Universal
Apostolic Preferences; the structure of the plan; how to ensure that the plan
Lent is an invitation to prayer and reflection - a time to discern who we are and what we are called to be. To enter into that prayer we must also look at the people and experiences that formed us.
