Good Friday – The cross, our hope

In Peter Girasek’s painting “Calvary”, the viewer is confronted by a multicolored canvas where a yellow cross, symbolizing Christ’s crucifixion, stands as a beacon of solemnity amidst swirling hues.

Through brushwork and evocative use of color, Girasek captures the essence of Good Friday, inviting us to contemplate on the convergence of suffering and redemption. The painting transcends mere representation and hints at the transformative power of Easter morning. Dark clouds of death and sin yield to the promise of resurrection – a reminder of the enduring hope found in the promise of grace and salvation.
