New Provincial for USA Central and Southern Province

Father General has appointed Fr Andrew R. Kirschman as the next Provincial of the USA Central and Southern (UCS) Province of the Society of Jesus.He succeeds Fr Thomas Greene who has served as Provincial since July 2020.

Born in 1973, Fr Kirschman’s entered the Society in 2000. He was ordained in 2011 and pronounced his Final Vows in 2018. Since 2018, Fr Kirschman has been serving as Director of novices at the Jesuit Novitiate of St. Stanislaus Kostka in Denver. In 2020, he was named a Province consultor and in 2024, was appointed Superior of the Xavier Jesuit Center where the novitiate is housed.

Fr Kirschman’s preparation for this new appointment spans many years and diverse ministries. During his Regency at Universidad Centroamericana (UCA) in El Salvador he gained experience of the international Society. He has also served in formation for the Alum Service Corps and contributed to teaching and coordination of outreach at Arrupe Jesuit High School. In addition, he has worked as coordinator of vocation promotion and as socius to the Director of novices before being appointed Director of novices himself.

Fr Kirschman takes up his new role on 31 July 2026.
