Gundisalvus (Gonzalvus) Fusai (ca. 1580-1622) came from a noble family in Okayama, Japan and lived for a time at the court of the daimyo of Bizen-Mimasaka. Fusai accompanied his lord during a military campaign in Korea. Later he left his position to move to Nagasaki where he became a Christian and served as a catechist. After exile in Macao, he joined his friends Michael Saito and Antonius Kyuni. For more details of his martyrdom, see the account under the name of Blessed Carlo Spinola.
