New Regional Superior for Thailand
Father General appointed
Fr. Miguel Garaizábal, 78 years old, as the next Regional Superior of the
Jesuits in Thailand. He will take office on 1 January 2021. Originally from
Spain, Fr. Miguel has been in Thailand for over fifty years. He studied
Spirituality, teaches spirituality, and is known in Thailand for his ministry
of the Spiritual Exercises and other types of retreats. Fr. Garaizábal is
currently Socius to the outgoing Regional Superior; he offers spiritual
guidance to the seminarians of the Major Seminary of Thailand and ongoing
formation to the clergy. He also helps taking care of the Latino community in
Bangkok.
