The General Curia concluded its social year with a gathering in the Aula on 19 June that brought together the Jesuit members of the Curia community and the lay collaborators that jointly sustain its administrative operations.

The event showcased presentations from various committees that oversee different aspects of the Curia’s life. Throughout the year, these committees carried out different activities centred around hospitality, formation in Ignatian spirituality, collaboration, professional development and care for our common home.

Some of the highlights of the presentations were recorded successes in events like the organization of the annual “Open Garden” event; the creation of a folder with materials to give orientation to Curia guests which is accessible through a QR code; presentations on the situation in complex contexts like Myanmar and Lebanon; the organization of several events to mark the 2025 Jubilee year, and the creation of an audit report on the ecological footprint at the Curia.

The event also provided the opportunity to formally welcome the new faces at the Curia who joined during the course of the last social year and to say farewell to a few others who would be leaving in the coming months. Following the presentations, the gathering shifted to the spiritual side with the celebration of the Holy Mass presided over by Father General Arturo Sosa. The day concluded with a communal meal that brought everyone together in the refectory of the General Curia.

Events such as these remind us that behind organizational charts and committee reports, there are faces and names that are bound together by a common purpose, and that this bond is deliberately cultivated and cherished. No committee functions in complete isolation and the integration of these reports further demonstrates the importance of an interconnected whole in service of the mission of the Society of Jesus.
