The Youth “out into the deep” at the Marseille Gathering

It was a potion of energy... and of evangelical energy! Not only for the young people themselves, but for all 7,000 participants in the Gathering “Out into the deep, with Ignatius,” organised in Marseille from 29 October to 1 November by the Province of French-speaking Western Europe.

About 1,500 young people attended: school groups from Jesuit institutions or linked to the Society of Jesus, others from various movements, but above all from the MEJ (Eucharistic Youth Movement.) Images express better than words the impetus of life that the young people brought to the event.

The young people in Marseille meant:

Music and song, whenever and wherever

Theatre and shows, to tell Ignatius’ story or to stir their hearts

Dance and the joy of being together

But also prayer and meditation, among themselves and also with the bishop

Finally, the truth of sharing and the willingness to serve
