New Provincial of Croatia: Fr. Sebastian Šujević
Father General Arturo Sosa has appointed Father Sebastian Šujević as the next Provincial of Croatia.Fr. Sebastian is aged 44 and comes from the city of Rijeka, Croatia. He grew up in a Jesuit parish in his native city, where he also attended the Salesian High School. He joined the Society of Jesus at 21 years of age. After studying Philosophy in Zagreb and Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, he was ordainedto the priesthood in2009. In 2012, he completed alicentiate in Fundamental Theology from the same Gregorian University.
He served first as theyouthchaplain atthe parish and on the campus of the Faculty of Philosophy and Religious Studiesin Zagreb, on Jordanovac street. Then, he became the Vice-Superior of theJesuit formation community in Zagreb. Since 2014, he has been headmaster of the JesuitHigh School in Osijek. He pronounced his final vows in2018 and in the same year was appointed Province consultor.

Šujević will take office on 29 June 2023.
