As we flip the page on 2024 and peer at the first rays of 2025 that break over the horizon, we extend our heartfelt blessings to you and your loved ones. A new year is an opportunity to reflect on God’s goodness to us, to embrace hope and reaffirm our dedication to justice, service and compassion.

In 2025, we invite you to join the Society of Jesus in its mission of promoting God’s kingdom of peace as we labor for a more just and compassionate world. Let us commit to showing the way to God, walking with the excluded, accompanying young people, and caring for our common home.

This year is particularly special as it is the Jubilee Year. The theme “Pilgrims of Hope” emphasizes the Church’s call to be a beacon of hope. It is a unique opportunity to renew our faith, encounter God’s mercy and engage with the Church’s mission to bring hope to the world.

May we be strengthened by the love of Christ and inspired by St Ignatius. May we be emboldened in our service of justice, firm in our faith and unwavering in our love for our brothers and sisters. On this journey of life, we are never alone. God walks with us and lights our way.

The Jubilee Prayer

Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.

May your grace transform us
into tireless cultivators of the seeds of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos
in the sure expectation
of a new heaven and a new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,
your glory will shine eternally.

May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread
the joy and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed,
be glory and praise for ever.
