Fr Xavier L. Olin, new Provincial for the Philippines

Father General has appointed Fr Xavier Olin as the next Provincial for the Philippine Province. He was born 49 years ago in Naga, where he studied Literature and got his diploma at the Jesuit school of Ateneo de Naga University in 1994. He entered the Society of Jesus in 1997 and studied theology at Loyola School of Theology in Manila. He was ordained to the priesthood in 2008 and has been mainly assigned to formation work since then.

Fr Xave was Province Vocations Director and Arvisu House Candidacy Director before being named Superior of the Jesuit Community of Xavier School in Manila. At Xavier School, he was Director of Campus Ministry. After tertianship in Australia, he was assigned to San Jose Seminary and served as Director of its Spiritual Pastoral Formation Year program. Currently, he is Rector of Loyola House of Studies, Province Delegate for Formation, and Director of the Center for Ignatian Spirituality.

Fr Olin will assume office at a date that is still to be determined.
