A new Provincial for Patna, India
Fr General has appointed Fr Vimal Kishore SJ as the new Provincial of Patna Province, Bihar, India.
Born in 1967, Fr Vimal entered the Society in 1989. He was ordained in 2002 and professed his final vows in 2011. He is currently the Superior of the Sampurna Vikas Samiti and St. Ignatius High School in Aurangabad, Bihar. Besides, he is one of the consultors to the Provincial, a Pastor and Coordinator for Discernment and Planning. He was earlier a socius to the Novice Master and Novice Master for eight years.
Fr Vimal holds a Licentiate in Christian Spirituality from the Jesuit School of Theology, Berkeley (JSTB) of Santa Clara University, California. He was trained in Spiritual Direction at Berkeley and Los Altos and in Counselling in Berkeley and Patna. A gentle guide and an effective pastor, Fr Vimal is also trained in Indian classical music.
We wish
him well in leading the century old Patna Province to greater heights. He will
take office on 2 June.
