Settimana tutti: A week of discernment and reflection
In July 2023, Father General released the De Statu Societatis (DSS) and invited the Society to reflect on her mission in the world today. This began a process of gathering feedback, beginning from individual communities to Provinces/Regions and Conferences.
Now, in continuation of that process of reflection, Father General has called for a Settimana tutti (loosely translated as a week with “everyone” present) in Rome. Throughout the week (9-13 December), 20 participants – 13 Counsellors, the General Secretary of the Society, the General Treasurer, the four Secretaries (Higher Education, Secondary and Pre-secondary Education, Social Justice and Ecology, Service of Faith) and the Director of Communications of the General Curia – will meet with Father General to reflect about the DSS reports in a prayerful and discerning way.
This Settimana tutti meeting underlines the Society’s commitment to living out its mission through discernment and collaboration. Every day of the week-long meetingis dedicated to exploring a specific theme crucial to the Society’s mission. The days are structured around prayer, personal reflection, small group discussions and plenary sessions. Some of the themes include identity, collaboration, mission and governance within the Society of Jesus.
