A Korean Encounter

Four days of the Superior General’s visit in the Jesuit Province of Korea, where perhaps the term “Reconciliation” has more concrete resonance than in other places. The Koreans have suffered in the past from wars and colonialism. And their country has been artificially cut in two parts since the 1950s; the Catholic Church went through bloodstained persecutions. Father Sosa learned a lot about the Korean history and of the ways the Jesuits from the Korean Province have been helping to heal the wounds - to work towards reconciliation - to get involved in the vast project of the eventual reunification of the Korean peninsula. The encounter with Korea was filled with joy and hope, as shown in the “summary in photos” of these past four days. Take a moment of thanksgiving while watching the slideshow.
