Webinar: Caring for the mission post COVID
The integration of cura personalis and cura apostolica is essential to the renewal of our mission. This is the basis of the conversation that Father Arturo Sosa, as Superior General, will propose during the next webinar which he will lead at the end of the month. He will do so in Spanish on Wednesday, 29 April (at 8:30 p.m., Rome time), then the following day, 30 April, in English (at 3:30 p.m., Rome time).
In his mind, the COVID-19 coronavirus crisis has highlighted the importance of taking care of personal and social health, of the lives of the elderly as well as of adults and young people, and also of the interrelation between people and the environment. Fr. Sosa will refer to St. Ignatius, emphasizing how, in the spirit of the founder and at the heart of the charism of the Society of Jesus, the cura apostolica (the care to be given to the apostolic commitment) and the cura personalis (the care to be given to each person) are inseparable. He will also take the opportunity to develop his understanding of the important concept of ‘life-mission’".
This webinar will also be an opportunity to understand how attention to health, the cura, the caring for the whole person, can help to understand and connect the Universal Apostolic Preferences. In this context, cura personalis and cura apostolica are essential to the way of governing in the Society at this time. His reflections will guide us towards Pentecost.
