Fr. Francis Lim, the newly appointed Regional Superior of the Malaysia-Singapore Region

Father General has appointed Fr. Francis Lim as the new Regional Superior of the Malaysia-Singapore Region of the Society of Jesus. Fr Lim is 52 years old and joined the jesuits in Singapore in 2001.

Before he entered the Society of Jesus, he had taught in a government school for almost seven years. Later, he studied philosophy at Sekolah Tinggi Filsafat Driyakara in Jakarta and theology at Regis College, Toronto.

He was ordained in 2012 and served as the Principal of St Joseph’s Private Secondary School, a diocesan-owned school in Kuching, Malaysia, from 2012 to 2021. He was appointed as the Socius to the regional superior in March 2022.

He will take office as the Regional Superior of the Malaysia-Singapore Region on 15 December 2022.
