Fr Jimmy Bartolo begins his service as Secretary for Secondary and Pre-Secondary Education

On Friday, January 16, Fr Jimmy Bartolo, SJ, from the Euro-Mediterranean Province, has begun his service as Secretary of Father General for Secondary and Pre-Secondary Education. This appointment is the result of extensive consultation, which led to a decision made some time ago. In recent months, Fr José Alberto Mesa, the outgoing Secretary, has introduced Fr Bartolo to his new responsibilities.

In a recent letter to all Major Superiors of the Society of Jesus, Fr General Arturo Sosa, SJ, thanked Fr Mesa for “his dynamism, which strengthened the network of educational institutions while deepening its commitment to Ignatian Pedagogy”. Fr General also thanked Fr Bartolo for his willingness to take on this new mission and for the valuable contribution he will make to the development of this apostolate and of the Jesuit Global Network of Schools (JGNS).

Fr Bartolo recently recorded a video message to the entire JGNS, introducing himself and expressing his enthusiasm and his desire to serve all the students, educators, leaders, delegates, and regional secretaries who make up our global network.
